An abrupt power interruption affecting a triple-device configuration (single data replication, duplicated metadata, DM-SMR drives) rendered the extent mapping and available space tracking irreparable through standard recovery methods. Subsequent repair attempts triggered an endless cycle exceeding 46,000 transactions without meaningful advancement, overwriting all restoration points. Successful recovery was ultimately achieved through fourteen specialized utilities developed using btrfs-progs internal interfaces, resulting in minimal data impairment of approximately 7.2 MB from 4.59 TB (0.00016%). The storage pool has resumed normal operation.
